ColeCo prefaces their Bassmentality gig with this mix that showcases the Toronto production duo’s ability to slide between sounds and styles with incredible fluidity. The quote-unquote “Sessionsmentality” distills wide-ranging love of music, traveling from Gigamesh’s remix of MJ’s “Don’t Stop”, through redone selections by M83, Aeroplane, Bronski Beat, and their own rewrite of Young Empires’ “We Don’t Sleep Tonight”. Nor do we sleep Wednesday nights, when Bassmentality regularly takes over Wrongbar for its weekly territory.
